7 artists reassess relationships with the great outdoors.
Tracey Hatton, Alice Crane, Sara Dudman, Jon England, Simon Lee-Dicker, Debbie Locke and Michael Fairfax.
This exhibition brings together the work of 7 artists, presenting their responses and methods used to record, map and interpret their relationships with the great outdoors. Playful, innovative and including interactivity, yet deeply embedded in the roots of landscape, this exhibition showcases some of the myriad of ways in which artists engage with ideas of open air, navigation and outdoor experiences. Every human who has inhabited this earth has an intrinsic relationship with the physical terrain they occupy and these artists invite and challenge the audience to reinterpret and explore both their own known and familiar landscapes and the relationships they have with them and also offer suggestions for new ways of experiencing and seeing these afresh. Parachute silk, graphite, lego, lenses, painting, collage, carving, paper, boot polish: how might you interpret and present your relationship with the great outdoors?
